Everything has changed....

So for those of you who live in the UK, today it was A-Level results day, which for me meant stress until 8am this morning when I finally found out if I got into University or not! Although I didn't get the grades I wanted....my first choice university still offered me my place which I am so happy about. But as I was sat on Facebook and Twitter it actually hit me that all my school mates for the past 7 years will be going to different parts of the country to start their own adventure.
Its actually horrible to think that a lot of the people who I have seen pretty much everyday will not be here in the next part of my life.
However, the people who I will definitely miss the most are my best friends....
Sam, who I now consider as my sister because I have known her for 16 years I am going to miss so much! our traditional Monday night dinners at her nans, our omegle fun times, our random laughing moments where we just go crazy, the days where we just spent hours and hours on Dynasty Warriors or other random games like Left4Dead! I can honestly say this girl has been with me through thick and thin and like every friendship we have had our ups and downs but definitely more ups than downs. However whilst this sounds like a goodbye, it definitely isn't, we have so many more things to get through and it definitely isn't! And that is a promise!!
Aimee as well! We have been through so much together, to the point where I feel like my childhood and development as a person has been through her! I love this girl with all my heart and will miss her so much when I go to University.

But instead of thinking about the past, it is now time to look to the future and what that has to bring!
Good  luck to everyone today and also good luck to the future!

Blast from the past!

Whilst sat here bored I thought that there was nothing better for me to do other than to listen to some Busted! And it honestly got me thinking about all of the songs I used to love, even if it was just a few years ago. So for many who were born around 1995 like me, Busted were the ultimate boy band and were incredible. I remember sat with my little portable CD player and listening to "What I got to School for" and bopping my little head along to it. And let me tell you, I was obsessed with them which is why I actually decided to listen to them!

Another person who I was completely and utterly head over heels for was Mr Peter Andre! Saying I was obsessed is an understatement! When his first album came out with the song "Mysterious Girl" on, I would sit in my bedroom after school and just have that song on repeat! Looking back to that time it is incredibly embarrassing because I'm not at all fussed about him now, but 10 year old Kyra was such a sucker for Andre.

So now that I've rambled on about who I was obsessed with, I would love to know who you loved and were obsessed with....where you an S Club 7 person or a Busted? Comment below or tweet me :D

Family time

So I''m sat with my family, my Mum, my brother, my sister and of course my beautiful dog and I've realized that if anyone walked in right now and sat with my family, they would think we hate each other! And I'm sure that would be exactly the same for most families out there.
In my case, my family spend the majority of the conversation insulting eachother or just simply being rude. For example, I cannot ask my brother a question without him rudely shouting, "SHUT UP!!" This might seem so rude and horrible but because I know him, and I know he is kidding I can just shout back at him. However if my brother did that to someone outside of the family, he would very quickly be punched in the face.
Another thing that I've realized most families do is nicknames.....both good and bad nicknames.
Most of the time my mum won't call us by our actually names she will call us something that has just randomly appeared over the years, for example she calls my baby sister Button, my little brother Big Button (which if you saw my brother you would understand this name) and I'm nicknamed Shiny Button for some complete random reason (or to my brother and sister I'm Ugly Button - that's love right there). But other than these silly button nicknames we all have our own nicknames for eachother.
Like me - Kiwi....this started as the nickname my dad gave me because it kinda of sounds like Kyra....kind of.....
Or I will call my sister Smeg...which has only recently been pointed out to me as a bad thing....
But anyway...I would just like to know about any of my readers family traits, wierd nicknames that you and your family share!
So email me at asplashofkiwi@gmail.com so we can share together. :D

The first one :)

So...to anyone who might be reading this, Hi!
My name is Kyra but for a very long time, my dad and a lot of friends have called me Kiwi - hence the reason why my  Blogger and YouTube name is a SPLASH of kiwi :).
I feel like if people are going to read my blogs they might want to know who I am so here I go...
I have just turned 18! PARTY TIME!!
I have recently finished my A-Levels studying English Literature, Media Studies and Religious Studies: Theology and Ethics. I should be receiving my results in 2 days time so fingers crossed everyone.
If everything goes to plan, in September I should be off to University to study Digital Film and Video for 3 years. Whilst this is my passion I can't help but think I am also drawn to working with kids as well, in primary school or some other way.
I wanted to do a Blog because as I said before I have a YouTube channel, BUT I have not uploaded onto it yet, simply because I haven't got the guts to yet which is just silly. However I do like to write down what I'm feeling and share it that way so that is what I am doing through Blogger.
As you will soon get to know as I start to upload quite a lot of blogs on my daily life and issues or reviews of books or films or anything at all, I really like to connect and build relationships with people from all over the world. So in all honesty, if you want to email me (aSPLASHofkiwi@gmail.com) or tweet me (@kyra1578) then please do, I would love to chat to anyone of you.
So to that end, have an awesome day and keep an eye out for more blogs :D
